TERMS and CONDITIONS
for camper rentals and camper hire New Zealand
LICENCE
All our New Zealand campers can be driven with a normal car licence which must be produced when collecting the rented camper in New Zealand and carried with you at all times while driving. Most overseas licences are accepted as long as they are written in English characters or accompanied by an English translation (available from your local Automobile Association) or an International Driver Licence.
MINIMUM DRIVING AGE
The minimum age to drive our New Zealand campers for hire and rent is 18 years.
RENTAL CALCULATION
When calculating the number of days a New Zealand camper is rented, the day of pick-up of the camper is counted as day one of the rental period, regardless of pick-up time. The day of the camper’s return is counted as the final day of the rental period.
EARLY RETURNS
Once the hire of the New Zealand camper has commenced, there are no refunds for
early returns. If you must return home early for an emergency, you can be supplied
with a letter for your travel insurance confirming that the New Zealand camper
was returned early.
RENTAL EXTENSION
If the hirer wishes to extend the rental whilst on hire, authorization of Vantastic Bedmobils Ltd. New Zealand camper rentals, camper hire and camper sales must be obtained first. This is subject to availability. Failure to obtain authorization will result in a daily fee of NZ$ 79.- in addition to the daily rental rate.
VEHICLE RETURN
All campers have to be brought back to Auckland to the place and at the time agreed on by both parties at the commencement of the hire. Vantastic Bedmobils Ltd. New Zealand camper rental, camper hire and camper sale reserves the right to charge a set amount for late returns.
DIESEL TAX RECOVERY
Diesel is cheaper at the fuel stations in New Zealand than petrol because diesel is not taxed at source. New Zealand Government charges people driving a diesel-powered vehicle tax through 'Road User Charges'. The 'Diesel Tax' is calculated on a kilometre basis and collected at the end of the New Zealand camper rental period at a rate of NZ$ 4.30 per 100 km.

INFRINGEMENTS
Vantastic Bedmobils Ltd. New Zealand camper rentals and camper hire reserves the right to charge the hirer for any speeding or parking fines including associated administration costs and/or accident damage and associated administration costs including third party property not reported on return of the camper.
SMOKING
Bedmobils New Zealand camper rentals and camper hire are a smoke-free zone.
DEPOSIT
A non-refundable deposit of 25% with a minimum of NZ$ 350.- is required to secure a reservation. The rest of the agreed sum is payable at commencement of hire.
CANCELLATION FEE = CF
60 days before commencement of hire - no extra CF
59-30 days before commencement of hire - 50% CF of the total rental costs
29-1 days before commencement of hire or no show - 100% CF of the total rental costs
ROAD RESTRICTIONS
90 Mile Beach (Top of the North Island). Beach Road only. The sealed road up to Cape Reinga can be driven.
BREAKDOWNS - ROADSIDE COVER
Our New Zealand campers for rent and hire are all maintained to the highest standard and thoroughly checked through after every rental. But just in case - we do provide you with a 24 hour, 7 day emergency roadside assistance free call number to deal with breakdowns. Any problems associated with the hired camper must be reported to Vantastic Bedmobils Ltd. New Zealand camper hire and camper rental as soon as practicable the latest within 24 hours on 021 262 3412 in order to give Vantastic Bedmobils Ltd. the opportunity to rectify the problem during the rental.
REPAIRS
Repairs on the hired New Zealand camper of up to NZ$ 50.- may be affected without authorization and will be reimbursed as long as the damage has not been caused by the hirer, driver or any other person. For amounts over NZ$ 50.-- Vantastic Bedmobils Ltd. will need to be informed in advance and has to give authorization on 021 262 3412. Gst Receipts must be submitted for any repairs done to receive reimbursement.
INSURANCE - FULL COVER
Full Cover Motor Vehicle Insurance is included in our daily rates. The insurance excess depends on the age of the individual drivers and is

The insurance excess as well as the reduction of the insurance excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.
Please see the "Exclusions" section below whereby all excess reduction cover will be made void.
The insurance excess will be refunded, if the hired camper is returned to the right place at the right time with no damage to the camper, third party or third party property, with a clean interior and full fuel tanks (Petrol, Diesel and Gas in cooker). The excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time of the accident not at the completion of the rental. The excess will be refunded if recovering the cost of damages from the third party is successful. Please note that third party claims can take months to resolve.
Failure to return the vehicle with full petrol or diesel tank as well as gas in cooker will result in refill charges. Petrol and Diesel refill charges will be advised upon return of vehicle.
EXCEPTIONS TO INSURANCE
All excess reduction cover will be made void and the hirer is liable for the whole damage in the below cases.
1. The driver of the vehicle is under the influence of alcohol or any drug that affects his/her ability to drive the vehicle.
2. The vehicle is in an unsafe or unroadworthy condition and the hirer or driver was aware or ought to have been aware of the unsafe or unroadworthy condition of the vehicle.
3. The vehicle is operated in any race, speed test, rally or contest.
4. The hirer is not a body corporate or department of State and the vehicle is driven by any person not named in the 'Rental Agreement'.
5. The vehicle is driven by any person who at the time of driving the vehicle is disqualified from holding or has never held a licence appropriate for that vehicle.
6. The vehicle is willfully or recklessly damaged by the hirer or any other person named in clause 3 of the agreement or driving the vehicle under the authority of the hirer, or is lost as a result of the willful or reckless behaviour of the hirer or any such person.
7. The vehicle is operated on any of the prohibited roads as set out in the 'Rental Agreement'.
8. The vehicle is operated outside the term of the hire or any agreed extension of that term.
9. No water related damage is covered, which includes but is not limited to:
a) any vehicle submersion b) creek or river crossing c) driving through low plain flooded areas
10. Personal belongings are not covered. We recommend the hirer does not leave valuables in the camper.
11. The incorrect use of fuel (Diesel or Petrol) is not covered. The hirer will be responsible for any associated costs.
EXCHANGE RATES/CURRENCY VARIATIONS
All credit card transactions are conducted in New Zealand Dollars. Due to exchange rate fluctuations and/or bank transactions fees there could be some variances in the amount refunded compared to the amount initially charged. Vantastic Bedmobils Ltd. does not accept any liability for variances up or down.
TOTAL LOSS
If for any reason beyond the control of Vantastic Bedmobils Ltd. New Zealand camper rentals, camper hire and camper sale the reserved camper cannot be supplied on pick-up a substitute will be offered. Should a substitute not be available the liability of Vantastic Bedmobils Ltd. camper rentals, camper hire and camper sales is limited to a full refund of monies received by Vantastic Bedmobils Ltd. New Zealand camper hire, camper rentals and camper sale.
